The 38th anniversary gala honored Charles Busch and Carl Andress.

Primary Stages' 38th Anniversary Gala was held November 15 at Sony Hall in honor of long-time collaborators Charles Busch and Carl Andress. Look inside the star studded celebration below!

Performers included Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!), Sierra Boggess (The Phantom of the Opera), Derrick Davis (The Lion King), Julie Halston (Tootsie), Amber Martin, Zakiya Young (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), and the performance group America's Sweethearts (Kristen Michelle, Traci Bair, Carly Kincannon). Musical direction was by Will Van Dyke (Little Shop of Horrors), and the live auction was led by Will Roland (Be More Chill).

The gala was directed by Michelle Bossy (The Oxy Complex), and included cocktails, dinner and musical performances of songs from Charles Busch and Carl Andress' body of work.

"Charles and Carl​ have a long history of​ developing​​ new works at Primary Stages, including our hit productions of The Confession of Lily Dare and The Tribute Artist," said artistic director Andrew Leynse. "Over the years, I've seen firsthand the care they've taken in mentoring and lifting up their fellow theatre artists, and their spirit of collaboration has made an incredible impact on the theatre community."

Both Busch and Andress received the 2022 Einhorn Mentorship Award during the festivities. Past recipients have included Jeanine Tesori, Kimberly Senior, Judy Gold, Adam Gwon, and Sharon Washington
