See Karen Olivo, Stephanie Hsu and More Celebrate at the Women of the Public

In the Heights' Karen Olivo and Be More Chill's Stephanie Hsu were among those who celebrated at The Public Theater’s Women of the Public gala at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park June 3. In the one-night only benefit, the Off-Broadway theatre paid tribute to playwrights, composers, directors, performers, and institutional leaders; and celebrated the impact of Ntozake Shange, Colleen Dewhurst, Jeanine Tesori, Ruby Dee, Arielle Tepper, Lynn Nottage, LuEsther T. Mertz, Susan Shiva Stein, Judith T. Peabody, Meryl Streep, Nona Hendryx, and many more.

The gala, directed by Leigh Silverman, honored Shakespeare’s great heroines and featured performances from some of The Public’s several musical productions, including A Chorus Line, Fun Home, and Miss You Like Hell.
