Schoolhouse Rock Live will play the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place July 8-August 28. The children's show, about a nervous schoolteacher who learns how to charm his students though music, is based on the Emmy-winning animated TV series.
Schoolhouse Rock Live was originally adapted and produced for the stage by Chicago’s TheatreBam from the series created by George Newall and Tom Yohe, based on an idea by David McCall. Produced by Emerald City Theatre, the production is currently playing at the Apollo Theater through June 5; performances began February 26.
The show features a book by Scott Ferguson, George Keating and Kyle Hall; music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, Kathy Mandry, George Newall and Tom Yohe; and direction by Morgan Ashley Madison.
