An invite-only reading of a new David W. Hart play Hannah's Promise, or A Life Without Limits will be held in NYC February 1, with Joe Calarco at the helm. The presentation precedes a global licensing release for the work.
The work, inspired by Hart's family history, tracks Hannah and Velvel as they escape worsening antisemitism in Russia by immigrating to a small town in Texas.
The reading will feature performances from Abby Goldfarb (Harmony), Dylan S. Wallach (Betrayal), Marquis Gibson, Jan Leslie Harding, Philip Hoffman, Michael Kishon, Allen Lewis Rickman, Yelena Shmulenson, David Skeist, John Paul Skocik, Christopher James Stevens, and Katarina Vizina.
Julia Messer will read stage directions.
Debbie Hart, Kathy Hart, and Rachel Roberson are producing. Broadway DNA serves as the general manager.
