Roundabout Theatre Company's 2023 annual spring gala will honor Amy Sherman-Palladino, Daniel Palladino, Scott Ellis, and Black Theatre United. The event will be held March 6 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City with two-time tony winner Sutton Foster on hand to perform a new concert created for the event.
Palladino and Sherman-Palladino are both known primarily for their work in television, frequently collaborating as producers, writers, and directors on their shows including Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The couple will be honored with the Ovation Award for Excellence in Philanthropy, for their work promoting the arts in New York City. Broadway director and longtime Roundabout associate Scott Ellis (Tootsie, Take Me Out) will be given The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre for his contributions to the theatre. A Special Recognition Award will be given to Black Theatre United for its work to create a more inclusive theatre industry.
All tickets and tables include a seat for the dinner, live auction, and the concert performance by Foster, with proceeds benefitting all Roundabout programs including Education at Roundabout.
