Roundabout Theatre Company's 2024 gala will honor Tony-winning director Kenny Leon and the Rudin Family. The annual spring event will be held March 4 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City with Oscar winner Ariana DeBose performing a new concert created for the event.
Longtime Roundabout collaborator Kenny Leon will be given The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre for his contributions to the theatre. Leon is currently represented on Broadway this season with the revival of Purlie Victorious, which he directed and produced. As senior resident director at Roundabout, he will helm the revival of Samm-Art Williams' Home, opening in June 2024 at the American Airlines Theatre.
The Rudin Family will be honored with the Ovation Award for Excellence in Philanthropy, for their work promoting the arts in New York City. Siblings Samantha Rudin Earls and Michael Rudin are co-CEOs of the real estate management and development firm Rudin Management. Rudin Earls serves on both Roundabout’s Board of Directors and the Generation Roundabout Ambassador Council.

The gala auction is co-chaired by Wendy Barker, Colleen Cook, Sylvia Golden, Nancy Lee Molesworth, JT Tsou, and Vanessa Williams. The gala performance is underwritten by Dr. Taylor W. Lawrence and Dr. Ryan P. Shelhamer. The Education Paddle Raise is sponsored by Capital One.
