News Ron Chernow Says Hamilton Is a "Biographer's Wish-Fulfillment Fantasy" Ron Chernow, whose biography "Alexander Hamilton" inspired the critically acclaimed new Broadway musical Hamilton, told the Wall Street Journal in a recent interview, "I never dreamed that I would be autographing Playbills."

Chernow, who served as historical advisor to the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical, also admitted, "I have had, no exaggeration, people who I have not seen for 20 or 30 years contact me and ask if I can get them tickets… I end up spending a lot of time politely saying no."

The author, currently at work on a Ulysses S. Grant biography, added that the entire experience has been "a biographer's wish-fulfillment fantasy."
