Tony winner Idina Menzel's new documentary Which Way to the Stage? is scheduled to make its premiere on streamer Disney+ December 9, but the reviews are already rolling in. Read what critics have to say below.
Anne McCabe directs the film, which takes audiences inside the Tony-winning actor's career. It features footage of Menzel on Broadway in Rent, in Wicked, and her 2018 Madison Square Garden concert appearance. Along with her successful career, the documentary also follows Menzel's experience with becoming a mother via in vitro fertilization and features interviews with Menzel's collaborators, friends, and family.

The project is a collaboration between Disney Branded Television and Ideal Partners, with the latter's Rachel Cohen and Jana Edelbaum producing.
Which Way to the Stage? is the latest Menzel-related Disney project, following her performances in Frozen and Enchanted, as well as their subsequent sequels.
The film is not connected to Ana Nogueira's play about a pair of Idina Menzel-obsessed theatre fans that played a world-premiere run at Off-Broadway's MCC Theater earlier this year, though both draw their titles from a quotable line uttered by Menzel's character in Rent.
