Getzlaff, who sorted through a mix of 16 gay and straight male suitors on the Bravo series, will play Andrew Polinski, one of the two grooms of My Big Gay Italian Wedding at Off-Broadway's Theatre Four. Written by Anthony Wilkinson, My Big Gay Italian Wedding concerns the obstacles that Anthony (Anthony Wilkinson) and Andrew (Getzlaff) face while planning their nuptials. According to production notes, "Anthony insists on a big, traditional Italian wedding—but there are a few problems. Anthony's family won't give their blessing unless he can fulfill two requirements: the ceremony is to be performed by a priest, and Andrew's estranged mother in Florida must give her blessing too. To further complicate matters, Andrew's ex-boyfriend is intent on breaking the couple up by revealing a recent indiscretion."
The cast also features Concetta Maria Aliotta, JC Alvarez, Jon Vincent Blake, Barry Brisco, Lorenzo Cambriello, Michael Ciriaco, Meridith Cullen, Brett Douglas, Laura Gaspari, Joe Grimaldi, Nate Johnson, Randi Kaplan, Lisa Liaromatis, Carla-Marie Mercun, Amanda Minker, Maria Nazzaro, Guy Olivieri, Rocco Parente, Antony Raymond, Julie Scalione and Joe Scanio. The creative team for Wedding comprises John Kenny (sets), Chris March (costumes), Aaron Copp (lighting) and Joseph Ritsch (choreography).
James Getzlaff has appeared in productions of Damn Yankees, Play On and The Dining Room. He recently toured with Lullaby of Broadway and also appeared on the History Channel's "St. Paul."
