Else Went's epic new play Initiative opened November 20 at Off-Broadway's Public Theater, after beginning previews November 4—and the reviews are out.

Initiative runs until December 7. The five-hour play is directed by Emma Rose Went. The play charts the intertwined lives of seven millennial teens from 2000 to 2004 living in California, following them from young love, loss, and many sessions of Dungeons & Dragon.

The cast of newcomers include Olivia Rose Barresi as Clara, Greg Cuellar as Riley, Harrison Densmore as Ty, Carson Higgins as Lo, Andrea Lopez Alvarez as Kendall, Jamie Sanders as Tony, and Christopher Dylan White as Em. Understudies Marisa Brau-Reyes, Brandon Burk, and Jose Useche round out the company.

Went's play was just named a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.
