The end of the world is about to get very crowded. Additional cast members have been announced for the upcoming Ethan Lipton musical The Seat of Our Pants, an adaptation of Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth. The absurdist play, which was just seen on Broadway in 2022, follows one family through 5,000 years—from the dinosaurs to the end of the world. It will run October 23–November 30 at Off-Broadway's Public Theater.
Newly joining the cast are Micaela Diamond, Shuler Hensley, Ben Beckley, Kelly Belarmino, Cole Burden, Michael Lepore, León Ramos Tak, Ruth Sternberg, and Angela Travino.
They join previously announced Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles as Mrs. Antrobus, Damon Daunno as Henry Antrobus, Amina Faye as Glady Antrobus, Andy Grotelueschen as Announcer/Ensemble, Ally Bonino as Fortune Teller, Bill Buell as Turkey/Ensemble, and Geena Quintos as Mammoth/Ensemble. Allison Ann Kelly, Nat Lopez, and David Ryan Smith will make up the ensemble. The world premiere musical will be directed by Leigh Silverman and feature choreography by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt.
The company also announced casting for its other 2025-2026 productions. The cast of the play Initiative by Else Went includes Olivia Rose Barresi, Marisa Brau-Reyes, Brandon Burk, Greg Cuellar, Harrison Densmore, Carson Higgins, Andrea Lopez Alvarez, Jamie Sanders, Jose Useche, and Christopher Dylan White. Directed by Emma Rosa Went, Initiative follows the lives of seven teens from 2000 to 2004. Performances will run November 4–30.
We also now know who will star in Elevator Repair Service's Ulysses, which will have actors reading, verbatim, sections from James Joyce's novel. The cast will include Dee Beasnael, Kate Benson, Maggie Hoffman, Vin Knight, Scott Shepherd, Christopher-Rashee Stevenson, and Stephanie Weeks. The show will be directed by John Collins, and will feature co-direction and dramaturgy by Scott Shepherd.
Currently, The Public Theater is getting ready to present Twelfth Night in its newly reopened Delacorte Theatre in Central Park, starring Lupita Nyong'o, Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, and many other stars, performing August 7–September 14.
