Irish Repertory Theatre celebrated the Off-Broadway opening of Conor McPherson’s The Seafarer, helmed by Co-Founding Artistic Director Ciarán O’Reilly, April 18. The production stars two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick and has been extended through May 24.

In The Seafarer, a Christmas eve poker game between friends in Dublin is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious stranger. The play premiered in 2006 at London's Royal National Theatre before opening on Broadway the following year.
Completing the cast of the Irish Rep revival are Colin McPhillamy as Richard, Michael Mellamphy as Ivan, Andy Murray as Sharky, and Tim Ruddy as Nicky. Broderick plays the role of Lockhart.
