Grammy-nominated music producer and songwriter Devonté Hynes has joined the creative team for Broadway's Job, set to begin performances July 15 at the Hayes Theater. Hynes' music will be new to the production for the Broadway transfer, following a multi-extended Off-Broadway premiere in 2023.

The psychological thriller from playwright Max Wolf Friedlich will open July 30, and the limited run will continue through September 29.

Hynes is a NYC-based singer, songwriter, record producer, and director. He's released albums as a member of the band Test Icicles, and as a solo artist under the names Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange. He's also collaborated with such artists as Jazmine Sullivan, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Florence and the Machine, Britney Spears, and Caryl Rae Jepsen.

"Anyone familiar with Dev’s work already knows what a naturally brilliant storyteller he is, so it’s no surprise that his work on Job not only enriches the thematic and narrative threads but also deepens the emotional resonance of the play," says producer Hannah Getts in a statement. "We are thrilled to integrate his innovative musical vision into the fabric of Job."

Set to star are the production's original Off-Broadway company of Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon. Job centers on an employee (Lemmon) at a big tech company on leave after becoming the subject of a viral video who begins working with a crisis therapist (Friedman). The work made its world premiere at Soho Playhouse in 2023, later playing an encore run at the Connelly Theatre.

Understudies Jeff Still and Arianna Gayle Stucki will round out the Broadway company.

Much of the creative team from the Off-Broadway runs will be reprising their work for the Broadway bow, including director Michael Herwitz, scenic designer Scott Penner, costume designer Michelle J. Li, and lighting designer Mextly Couzin. Also new for the Broadway transfer along with Hynes is sound designer Cody Spencer.

Rachel A. Zucker will serve as production stage manager, with ShowTown Theatricals' Samuel Dallas general managing. Along with Getts, the producing team includes Alex Levy, Craig Balsam, and P3 Productions. Getts is also serving as dramaturg.
