Poison, by Dutch playwright Lot Vekemans, will have its English-language premiere Off-Broadway this fall. The play garnered favorable reviews in the Netherlands, where it debuted, and went on to be produced in Russia, South America, China, and across Europe.

Origin Theatre Company is bringing the award-winning drama to the Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row November 10-December 11. The production will officially open November 16. The play has been translated from Dutch by Rina Vergano and will be directed by Erwin Maas.

Obie winner Birgit Huppuch and Drama Desk nominee Michael Laurence are set to star in the two-hander about a couple who reunites after a lengthy separation. “Try as they might to avoid speaking about what happened and what has happened since,” read production notes, “their fragility and doubt, as well as ability to heal, all seep in through the cracks of newly opened wounds.”

The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street, New York. Tickets, which are $65, can be purchased by calling (212) 239-6200 or visiting Telecharge.com or OriginTheatre.org.
