Phyllis Newman, the famed singing actress who won a Tony Award for her performance in Subways Are for Sleeping as well as the special 2009 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, was one of the first artists to spend a week blogging for Playbill.com's PlayBlog. Those writings inspired the actress and philanthropist to create her own blog.
Newman told Playbill.com, "Because of the fun I had and response I got from doing the Playbill blog, I now have my very own website and instead of finishing another auto-biography, I’m doing an ‘auto-blography.’ So thanks and please read it.”
