MasterVoices closed out its season with Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe at Carnegie Hall May 3, and photos from the exciting evening have been released. Artistic Director and Tony winner Ted Sperling was at the baton for the concert, which also included the 120-member MasterVoices choral ensemble.
The comic opera, first performed in 1882, centers on its titular character, a fairy banished from fairyland for marrying a mortal. A case of mistaken identity leads to a battle between London's House of Peers and the fairies, all while satirizing British government and society.
The Kander and Ebb and Lin-Manuel Miranda musical has dropped the track as a single and music video ahead of the upcoming cast album's postponed release.
Laurence Maslon, author of I'll Drink to That!, has created five bespoke cocktails inspired by this season's Best Musical nominees. Get the recipes here!
