James Graham's Quiz is readying to tour the U.K. following an encore run at Chichester Festival Theatre. Go inside the rehearsal room with new photos below.
Described as "a fictional imagination based on real events," the work digs into the infamous Coughing Major scandal, which may or may not have involved the British iteration of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? being scammed out of £1,000,000. The play debuted at Chichester Festival Theatre before transferring to London's West End in 2018, where it received two Olivier nominations including Best New Comedy.
Rory Bremner leads the new tour as Chris Tarrant, opposite Charley Webb as Diana Ingram, Lewis Reeves as Charles Ingram, Mark Benton as Judge Rivlin, Leo Wringer, Sukh Ojla, Marc Antolin, Stefan Adegbola, Daniella Henry, and Jay Taylor. The ensemble includes Valerie Antwi, Dean Graham, and Simon Victor.
Daniel Evans and Seán Linnen co-direct with design by Robert Jones, lighting by Ryan Day, composition and sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, video by Tim Reid, and casting by Matilda James. Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, Wessex Grove, and Gavin Kalin Productions is producing by arrangement with William Village.
The tour kicks off at Chichester Festival Theatre September 22, after which the production will play Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff, Salford, Norwich, Bromley, Canterbury, Bath, and Birmingham. For the complete itinerary, visit QuizThePlay.co.uk.
