"Though my husband and I have performed together numerous times, this is the first time I have ever directed him... and I am happy to report we are not headed for divorce court," said Kennedy. "Alan and I have spent the last 4 years splitting time between New York City and Raleigh, NC, where we run our theatre company Hot Summer Nights. It has truly become our passion and we can't wait to produce more fabulous theatre and bring awesome artists to our stage."

The cast also features David McClutchey, Erick Pinnick and Lormarev Jones.
Race, according to press notes, tells the story of "Charles Strickland (David McClutchey), a wealthy man who is charged with a crime against a black woman. The play follows Strickland and the characters of the multi-racial law firm of Lawson and Brown as they decide if they want to take the case...The plot unfolds as the three lawyers and defendant grapple with the evidence in the case and their own feelings about race."
The creative team also includes technical director Chris Bernier, sound designer Eric Collins, production stage manager Mette CJ Schladweiler, costume designer LeGrande Smith, set designer and prop designer Rick Young, associate artistic director Adam Twiss, publicity and media relations director Hilary Russo, general manager Michele Weathers, assistant director Liz Ray and assistant stage manager Morgan Richardson.
Show times are Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
