The world premiere from the Strange Loop creator follows Christian teenager Dawn O'Keefe, whose body bites back when men try to violate her.

Full casting has been revealed for the world premiere of Anna K. Jacobs and Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop)'s new musical, Teeth. It will play Off-Broadway via Playwrights Horizons February 21-March 31, 2024, with an official opening night set for March 12. 

Based on the 2007 horror comedy film of the same name, Teeth follows evangelical Christian teenager Dawn O'Keefe, whose body bites back when men try to violate her. Sarah Benson will direct and Raja Feather Kelly will choreograph the work about the battling forces of sexuality and religion, revenge and transformation. Lyrics are by Jackson, music is by Jacobs, and the book was penned by the duo. It is presented by Playwrights Horizons in special arrangement with Mark Gordon Pictures and Cody Lassen.

The cast will include Alyse Alan Louis (Amelie) as Dawn O’Keefe, Courtney Bassett (Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812) as Promise Keeper Girl Becky, Phoenix Best (Dear Evan Hansen, The Color Purple) as Promise Keeper Girl Fiona, Will Connolly (Once) as Brad O’Keefe, Jason Gotay as Tobey/Truthseeker, Jenna Rose Husli as Promise Keeper Girl Trisha, Jared Loftin as Ryan/Truthseeker, Lexi Rhoades as Promise Keeper Girl Rachael, Wren Rivera as Promise Keeper Girl Stephanie, and Helen J Shen as Promise Keeper Girl Keke. Casting is by Taylor Williams and Alaine Alldaffer.

The production will feature scenic design by Adam Rigg, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Jane Cox and Stacey Derosier, orchestrations by Kris Kukul, special effects design by Jeremy Chernick, music supervision by Julie McBride, music contracting by Kristy Norter, intimacy direction by Crista Marie Jackson, and fight direction by Robert Westley. Thomas Dieter serves as stage manager alongside Amanda Spooner as production stage manager.
