Broadway Barks, the annual cat and dog adoption event, will return July 9 for its 24th annual adoptathon, marking a return to Shubert Alley after three digital drives due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Co-founded by Bernadette Peters and the late Mary Tyler Moore, the event unites Broadway luminaries with ASPCA, leveraging their star power to find loving homes for animals in need from 25 participating NYC-area shelters.
Peters will host the event alongside two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster, a longtime supporter of Broadway Barks.
More than 2,000 cats and dogs have been featured in the annual event, and approximately 85% have found forever homes. The event, produced by Broadway Cares, will take place in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and 8th Avenue). The adoption event begins at 3 PM, and celebrity presentations will be made from 5–6:30 PM.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants will be announced at a later date.
