Tony-nominated Parade stars Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond and the show's composer, Jason Robert Brown, perform at a special White House event celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month May 16. The performance, which will include songs from the current Tony-nominated Broadway revival, will stream live. The broadcast will be available above beginning at 4:30 PM ET.
Platt and Diamond are starring in the first-ever Broadway revival of Parade at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, where the production opened March 16. The musical, with a score by Brown and a book by Alfred Uhry, tells the true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish man who was wrongfully accused and convicted of murdering a 13-year-old girl in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1913. The revival comes to Broadway following a 2022 run at New York City Center. Much of the cast from that production has continued to Broadway, including Platt and Diamond.
The production is currently nominated for six 2023 Tony Awards, including Best Revival, Leading Actor and Actress for Platt and Diamond, and Direction for Michael Arden. Read the full list of Tony nominees here.
