They will join Essex, who is introducing the event, for the show's finale. According to a press statement, Julie Covington, who was also in the original cast, will be abroad and unable to attend, but it is still hoped that Jeremy Irons - who played John the Baptist - can join them, subject to filming commitments.
Producer and musical director Russell Scott commented, "We are delighted that so many of the original stars of Godspell can join us at the Lyric - their presence will make the evening extra special for fans of the musical and provide an emotional finale to the evening."
The evening will feature the orchestrations of the 2011 Broadway revival that ran at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
The show, presented by Russell Scott Entertainment Ltd. in association with In House Casting, features musical direction (of a live band) by Scott and direction by Kenneth Avery Clark. Choreography will be by Paul Robinson.
Presented in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, it will feature a 32-strong choir and a cast led by Zoe Tyler (a regular presenter of TV's "Loose Women," who has previously appeared in the West End in Les Miserables and City of Angels) and Andy Abraham (who came second in TV's "The X Factor" in 2005). The cast will also feature Stewart Clarke, Sarah Galbraith, Katie Paine, Turlough Convery, Jason Broderick and Laura Darton. To book tickets or further information, visit www.godspellinconcert.com.
