What do Nicole Kidman, Kevin Spacey and Oklahoma! have in common?
Not only have all three been big hits this season in London, and not only have all three been nominated for UK Olivier Awards, but all are either currently on Broadway or due to arrive this season or next.

The Blue Room, David Hare's reworking of Schnitzler's La Ronde, received six Olivier nominations (announced Jan. 14), including best actress for Kidman, best actor for co-star Iain Glen, and best play. Another best actor nominee, Kevin Spacey, arrives in The Iceman Cometh this spring. Trevor Nunn's bound-for-Broadway staging of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! received nine nominations, including several design nods, Best Musical Production, Best Choreography (Susan Stroman) and Best Director (Nunn).

As if those weren't enough reasons for New York to feel cocky about its British imports, both Conor McPherson's The Weir and Yasmina Reza's The Unexpected Man were nominated, and both are due in Manhattan in the coming months. Sian Phillips got a Best Actress in a Musical nod for Marlene, which she brings to Broadway in the spring. Meanwhile, best actress nominee Diana Rigg is currently in Brooklyn, NY with the shows that netted her the honor: Phedre and Britannicus.
