Darius de Haas, seen this past summer in the Public Works production of As You Like It, returns to 54 Below with The Holiday Concert December 20 at 9:30 PM.
The actor, who also provides the singing voice of Shy Baldwin on TV's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will share his love for the holidays with interpretations of classics (“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Silent Night”) and more contemporary holiday songs (“This Christmas” and “Cold”).
De Haas is joined at the intimate venue by musical director Tedd Firth on keyboards, George Farmer on bass, and Jerome Jennings on drums.
De Haas has been seen on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman, Rent, Carousel, Marie Christine, The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm, and Shuffle Along. His other theatrical credits include Children of Eden, an Obie-winning performance in Running Man, the first national tour of Once On This Island, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, and more. His recent TV credits include Dietland and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, while recordings include Quiet Please (Bridge Records), Day Dream: Variations on Strayhorn (PS Classics), and Ice On The Hudson. De Haas serves on the International Board of Directors for Covenant House serving homeless youth throughout the U.S. and South America.
The new trailer showcases the scale of the production design, as well as a first listen to the power ballad "Waiting on a Wish," one of the new original songs by Pasek and Paul.
