Attenders of the March 15 Sh-k-Boom Room concert can see Tom Kitt and God - and their bands.
Kitt is a theater composer and songwriter whose style has been compared to another pop writer who is said to have a musical in the works at the Roundabout Theatre - Duncan Sheik. A classically-trained pianist, Kitt most recently musical directed and conducted Hair at the Actor's Theatre in Louisville. His Tom Kitt Band features Damien Bassman on drums, Dan Grennes on bass and David Adler on guitar. They can be heard on the new CD, "Find Me."
God, on the other hand, is not the deity but the brainchild of Rent and Jesus Christ Superstar's Danny Rocckett. Considering themselves a cross between a boy band, a rock band and a punk band, God promises that "Danny will maniacally run through the crowd at some point armed with a lethal squirt gun." God was co-founded with Mugwump Jizm and recently released a CD entitled "GOD: Greatest Hits II."
