News Nina Arianda and Sam Rockwell's Fool for Love Ends Broadway Run Today The Broadway premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard's Fool for Love plays its final performance today, concluding a limited run that was extended a week due to strong reviews and word of mouth.

Starring Tony Award winner Nina Arianda and Sam Rockwell, Fool for Love officially opened Oct. 8 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. It will have played a total of 25 previews and 76 regular performances.

Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin directed the Manhattan Theatre Club production, which began previews Sept. 15. The production arrived on Broadway after a 2014 engagement at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, which was an associate producer on the Broadway run.

The cast also includes Emmy Award winner Tom Pelphrey (By The Water at MTC, End of the Rainbow) and Tony Award nominee Gordon Joseph Weiss (Fool For Love at Williamstown, Ghetto).

"Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart," according to press notes. "Beaten down by ill-fated love and a ruthless struggle for identity, can they ultimately live with, or without, each other?"

The creative team included Dane Laffrey (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Justin Townsend (lighting design), Ryan Rumery (sound design) and David S. Leong (movement and fights).
