Nick Cordero to Star in 80s-Set Off-Broadway Premiere | Playbill

News Nick Cordero to Star in 80s-Set Off-Broadway Premiere Tony nominee Nick Cordero (Bullets Over Broadway) is among the cast for the world premiere production of Melissa Ross' Nice Girl, presented by the Labyrinth Company. Also featured are Diane Davis (Golden Boy), Kathryn Kates ("Orange is the New Black") and Liv Rooth (Venus in Fur).

Performances of Nice Girl are set to run May 7 through June 7 at Bank Street Theater. The production reunites Ross with director Mimmi O'Donnell, who worked together in 2011 on the acclaimed Thinner Than Water.

Ross' latest play is set in a small, middle class suburb outside of Boston in 1984. It follows Jo Rosen, a 37-year-old woman with a dead-end job who still lives at home with her mother. "When a chance flirtation with an old classmate and a new friendship at work give her hope for the possibility of change, Jo dusts off the Jane Fonda tapes and begins to take tentative steps towards a new life," say press notes. Nice Girl explores both the tragedy and joy of figuring out who you are.

The production features set design by David Meyer, lighting by Japhy Weideman, costumes by Emily Rebholz, sound design by Ryan Rumery and Hannah Woodward as production stage manager.

Ross is a Labyrinth Theater Company member; her earlier play include You Are Here, Do Something Pretty and The Allies.

Bank Street Theater is located at 155 Bank St., New York. Tickets begin at $25 and can be purchased at labtheater.org or by calling (212) 513 1080.
