For the second episode of the newly launched Playbill’s Tyler Mount Vlog, Mount invited Newsies star Josh Burrage for a three-minute rendition of the hit Disney musical. Burrage was featured in the Newsies national tour, as well as the recent film broadcast—which will return to cinemas next month for an encore screening due to popular demand.

The Tony-winning Newsies, also a 1992 Disney film, was inspired by the real-life “Newsboy Strike of 1899,” when a New York newsboy led a band of orphan and runaway newsies on a two-week-long protest against the city’s most powerful newspaper publishers.
The U.S. theatrical broadcast, Disney’s Newsies: The Broadway Musical, debuted in cinemas February 16, 18, and 22, will return to theatres March 4 at 12:55 PM for an encore screening. Visit FathomEvents.com for participating theatres.
