The Broadway in the Boros series, featuring performances from the casts of Broadway musicals in various neighborhoods throughout New York City, concludes July 31 with a screening of Disney's Newsies, which was filmed during the national tour's Los Angeles engagement with several members of the original Broadway cast.
The screening—held in the Bronx at Williamsbridge Park Oval—will be preceded by special guest performers and an interactive crowd dance lesson.
The evening begins at 7 PM with the pre-show performance followed by the 8:30 PM screening. Among those scheduled to be part of the event are Newsies alums Tommy Bracco, Adam Kaplan, and Liana Hunt.
The filmed performance premiered in movie theatres in February. The cast includes original stars Jeremy Jordan as rebellious paperboy Jack Kelly, Kara Lindsay as Katherine, Ben Fankhauser as Davey, and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie. A return engagement is set to hit cinemas in August.
