News Never Forget Cancels Transfer to London's Lyric Theatre; Tour Planned Never Forget, the musical set to the back catalogue of songs by nineties boy band Take That, will end its current West End run at the Savoy Theatre on Nov. 15. Plans have been canceled for the show's transfer to the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, where performances were due to resume Nov. 20 for an open-ended run.

The producers have announced that they plan to send the musical out on a new U.K. tour in 2009 instead. In a statement producer Bronia Buchanan said, "The show was going to have to be substantially re-conceived for the smaller Lyric Theatre, and after discussions with the theatre, the unions, our fabulous cast and creative team, we have decided we need to re-imagine this version and protect the integrity of the production in its current format which has been proven to work time and time again, astounding and thrilling audiences every single night. So this show will now be going out on UK tour, new productions will open in territories around the world next year and there is no doubt that it will be back in the West End in the not too distant future."

The show opened at the Savoy Theatre May 21 (following previews from May 7). Worldwide productions are said to be under discussion for Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Austria, Australia, Korea, New Zealand and Japan. Never Forget, with an original story written by BAFTA Award winner Danny Brocklehurst (TV's "Shameless," "Sorted" and "Clocking Off"), Guy Jones and director Ed Curtis, revolves around a band being formed to pay tribute to Take That. But when success beckons, love and loyalties are put to the test, and the lead singer Ash must decide how far he will go in his pursuit of the ultimate prize. The score includes Take That's number-one hits "Relight My Fire," "Pray," "Back for Good," "Babe" and "Never Forget." The current cast includes Dean Chisnall as Ash Sherwood, Craige Els as Jake Turner, Stephane Anelli as Jose Reize, Tim Driesen as Adrian Banks and Eaton James as Dirty Harry.
