The project is written by Scott Silveri ("Friends"), who executive produces with Karey Burke and the pilot's director, Todd Holland. The cast also includes Matthew Perry ("Friends"), Tony winner Julie White (The Little Dog Laughed), Khary Payton, Allison Miller and Suzy Nakamura.
"Go On" centers on a sportscaster (Perry) who tries to move on from loss and finds comfort among the members of his group therapy sessions. Benanti plays Lauren, the leader of the support group, and White plays Anne, a feisty and recently widowed woman stuck in the anger stage of grief.
Benanti, most recently on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, won the Tony Award in 2008 for her performance in Gypsy. She has also been seen on Broadway in The Wedding Singer, In the Next Room, The Violet Hour, Nine, Into the Woods, Swing! and The Sound of Music.
