White Rabbit, Red Rabbit playwright Nassim Soleimanpour will return Off-Broadway in December with his latest play Nassim, which begins performances December 6 ahead of an official December 12 opening night at City Center Stage II.
Iranian playwright Soleimanpour created a buzz with the Off-Broadway run of White Rabbit Red Rabbit, which was performed by a rotating cast of artists who performed the play only moments after being handed the script on their opening night.
Omar Elerian directs Nassim, which is performed in a similar manner. According to producers, “Nassim explores the power of language to unite us in these uncertain times.” The play was a commission of the Bush Theatre in London, where it had its 2017 world premiere.
White Rabbit Red Rabbit ran for more than nine months in New York and was performed by Whoopi Goldberg, Bobby Cannavale, Nathan Lane, F. Murray Abraham, and other celebrated actors. It has been performed thousands of times in the United States and has been translated into more than 25 languages.
The American premiere of Nassim is produced by Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, and Barrow Street Theatricals.
