Directed by Andrew Rasmussen, the show officially opens July 20. Returning to the stage as comic alter ego Mrs. Smith herself, Hanbury is joined by "Broadway Boys" Brandon Haagenson and Ken Lear in what is dubbed as "an all-singing, all-dancing demented cabaret on acid."

The show arrives Off-Broadway after previously playing performances at venues across the U.S. including the American Repertory Theatre and New York City's Laurie Beechman Theatre. The story follows Mrs. Smith, a woman on the verge of a breakdown due to her missing cat, Carlyle. To try to overcome her grief, she attempts to mount a Broadway-style musical where her bizarre life story is re-enacted in song and dance with the aid of her "Broadway Boys."

The cabaret blends classic Broadway and Hollywood hits like "One Night in Bangkok," "Cabaret" and "The Man That Got Away," with character comedy, tap dancing, puppetry, video flashbacks and more.

Hanbury's comic alter ego Mrs. Smith has performed at A.R.T's Emerging America Festival, Oberon, Berkeley Rep, 54 Below, Ars Nova, Dixon Place, Upright Citizens Brigade and numerous other notable venues throughout the country.
