Set in 1960s London, The Comedy About Spies, a farcical caper full of misunderstanding, miscommunication, and mistaken identity, follows a rogue British agent, who steals plans for a new weapon. Spies from the CIA and the KGB assemble at London’s Piccadilly Hotel to track down the British mole, but when a young British couple and an older actor auditioning for the first James Bond film check into the hotel, the stakes reach a boiling point.
The production also has set design by David Farley, costume design by
Deborah Andrews, movement direction by Shelley Maxwell, lighting design by Johanna Town, sound design and music by composer Jon Fiber for
JollyGoodTunes, casting by Lucy Jenkins and Sooki McShane, and additional casting by Heather Basten. Jonathan Sayer is the executive producer.
The Comedy About Spies is presented by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence in association with Jo Danvers.
