Mint Theater Company will present the American premiere of Elizabeth Baker's Partnership Off-Broadway at Theatre Row. Jackson Grace Gay will direct the play, the final installment in Baker's "Meet Miss Baker" series.
The production will run September 30-November 12. Casting will be announced at a later date.
Partnership follows Kate Rolling, who, working in a small but smart shop, yearns for more: not romance or adventure, but capitalistic expansion. But when the owner of the biggest shop in Brighton proposes a merger package that involves marrying Kate, she doesn't hesitate on the opportunity, reassuring her friends that she "never expected anything great in the way of love."
Mint Theater Company's production of Partnership serves as part of the company's ongoing effort to create new life for neglected and overlooked women playwrights, which was most recently exemplified by the world premiere of Betty Smith's Becomes a Woman.
Partnership will feature scenic design by Alexander Woodward, costume design by Fabian Aguilar, lighting design by M.L. Geiger, sound design by Daniel Baker, dialect and dramaturgy by Amy Stoller, and casting by Stephanie Klapper.
