Rob Ruggiero is directing the Tony-winning musical at the 2025 Tony-winning regional theatre.

Performances begin July 28 for the the St. Louis Muny production of the Tony-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen.

Directed by Rob Ruggiero with choreography by Beth Crandall and music direction by conductor Roberto Sinha, the limited engagement continues through August 3 at the 2025 Tony-winning Missouri venue.

Michael Fabisch, who starred in the title role of the recent national tour of Dear Evan Hansen, reprises his performance at the Muny, joined by Jackie Burns as Heidi Hansen, Maggie Lakis as Cynthia Murphy, Rob McClure as Larry Murphy, Afra Sophia Tully as Zoe Murphy, Joshua Bess as Connor Murphy, Bryan Munar as Jared Kleinman, and Savy Jackson as Alana Beck.

The ensemble includes Kaley Bender, Vera Brown, Alex Daspit, Samuel Gerber, Josh Hoon Lee, Spencer Davis Milford, Zoë Brooke Reed, Gabi Stapula, Essence Anisa Tyler, and Oscar Williams, who is the understudy for Evan. The company is  joined by the Muny Teens Youth Ensemble, as well as the 12 selected Muny Summer Intensive participants.

Dear Evan Hansen features a score by the Tony- and Oscar-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story) and a book by Tony winner Steven Levenson (tick, tick...BOOM!).

Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway in December 2016, going on to win six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. A film version, starring original Evan, Tony winner Ben Platt, opened in theatres nationwide September 24, 2021.

Semester by Semester: A Look Back at the Evans of Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen

The Broadway production played its final performance at the Music Box Theatre September 18, 2022. Dear Evan Hansen ended its run at London's Noël Coward Theatre October 22, 2022, nearly three years after its West End premiere on October 29, 2019.

The Muny production also has scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Joseph Shrope, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge, video design by Kevan Loney, and wig design by J. Jared Janas. Casting is by The Telsey Office's Rashad Naylor. Gabi Stapula is the associate choreographer, and Bonnie Panson is the production stage manager.

The Muny artistic staff includes Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson, Associate Artistic Director Michael Baxter, Director of Production Tracy Utzmyers, and Music Supervisor Michael Horsley.

Season 107 at The Muny will subsequently offer La Cage aux Folles (August 8-14) and Jersey Boys (August 18-24).
