As previously reported, Radcliffe, who was most recently seen as ambitious office climber J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed…, will play poet Allen Ginsberg in the film by John Krokidas and Austin Bunn.
Directed by Krokidas, “Kill Your Darlings” will also star Elizabeth Olsen, Dane DeHaan, Ben Foster and Jack Huston.
In the film a murder in 1944 brings together the poets of the beat generation, including Ginsberg (Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Huston) and William Burroughs (Foster).
“Kill Your Darlings,” from Killer Films, Rose Pictures, Benaroya Pictures and Dontanville / Frattaroli Management, is scheduled for a 2013 release.
Radcliffe, who originated the role of Finch in the How to Succeed… revival, was nominated for Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance. He has also been seen on Broadway in Equus and is best known for his work in the "Harry Potter" movie series.
