The York Theatre Company presents an invitation-only
developmental reading of the musicalMerman April 1 featuring direction by Richard Sabellico and musical direction by Jon Delfin.
Inspired by Brian Kellow's book, the musical features a libretto by Sabellico and songs by Irving
Berlin, De Sylva and Whiting, Elliot and Spina, George and Ira
Gershwin, Henderson and Brown, Cole Porter, Jule Styne, and Stephen Sondheim.
Late musical comedy star Ethel Merman created leading roles in the original Broadway productions ofGypsy, Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, Call Me Madam, Panama Hattie, and more.
Meg Meschino is the stage manager for the reading, which is part of The York Theatre Company’s Developmental Reading Series.
Laks, the League's former executive vice president and general counsel, has been serving in the role on an interim basis since the departure of Charlotte St. Martin.
