The playwright's works include the Pulitzer-winning 'night, Mother, and the books to musicals The Secret Garden and The Color Purple.

The catalogue of Tony- and Pulitzer-winning playwright Marsha Norman has been acquired by the theatrical division of International Literary Properties, which works to enhance and manage literary and theatrical estates.

Norman's plays include the 1983 Pulitzer winner 'night, Mother, along with Getting OutThird and Oak: The LaundromatThe Pool HallThe HoldupTraveler in the DarkSarah and AbrahamLoving Daniel BooneTrudy Blue, and Last Dance. She won a Tony Award for her book to the 1991 musical The Secret Garden, to which she also contributed lyrics. Norman is also the book writer of The Color Purple and The Bridges of Madison County. Her screenwriting credits include Face of a StrangerCooler ClimateThe Audrey Hepburn StoryCustody of the Heart, and Samantha, An American Girl, along with screen adaptations of her stage works 'night, MotherThe Laundromat, and The Pool Hall.
