The special comedy event is slated to premiere May 28 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) with additional airings to follow. Check your local listings.

The solo show which finds Cantone ranting, raving and singing was staged by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Assassins, Take Me Out). Showtime and Jonathan Burkhart presented the work which began previews on Broadway at the Cort Theatre Oct. 12 and opened Oct. 24.

Laugh Whore, written and performed by Cantone, features musical numbers composed by tick, tick...BOOM! and Once on This Island actor Jerry Dixon with lyrics by Cantone, Dixon and Harold Lubin. Tom Kitt (Debbie Does Dallas) served as musical director and arranger.

Cantone, known to television audiences as ruthless gay wedding stylist Anthony Marentino on "Sex and the City," recently played on Broadway in The Violet Hour and Assassins. The Boston-area native has also appeared on Broadway in Love! Valour! Compassion!, Off-Broadway in The Crumple Zone and many comedy gigs including spots on "Chappelle's Show" and his own Comedy Central special.

Showtime taped Cantone's Laugh Whore at the Cort Theatre Dec. 11 and was directed for television by Paul Miller. Kimber Rickabaugh, Paul Miller and Jay Larkin are executive producers of the show. Rickabaugh also serves as the show’s producer. Visit the official site at www.laughwhore.com.
