Connecticut's Goodspeed Musicals has added two musicals to its upcoming season at the Norma Terris Theatre.
A new revue of songs by Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire, About Time, will perform beginning May 24 and continue through June 15. The show completes the revue trilogy from the Baby and Big writers that began with Starting Here, Starting Now and Closer Than Ever. Maltby Jr. is directing the work with Marcia Milgrom Dodge providing choreography and musical staging. Audiences can expect songs "about people navigating the joys and challenges of growing older while staying young in spirit," according to press notes.
Also newly joining the season is Cal Silberstein and Paul Hodge's The Great Emu War, a comedy about the great war between the Australian government and the emus of Western Australia. Amy Anders Corcoran is directing and choreographing the work, which features a book by Silberstein and songs by Hodge.
These new titles join the company's previously announced mainstage season, which includes a world premiere stage adaptation of Jerry Herman's 1996 TV musical Mrs. Santa Claus, Ragtime, All Shook Up, and A Chorus Line.
Tickets are at Goodspeed.org.
