Readings and Workshops Madeline Weinstein, Saamer Usmani Set for Reading of Laura Lapidus' Kate

Molly Clifford will direct the new play about the relationship between two sisters.

Kate, a new play by Laura Lapidus, will receive an invitation-only 29-hour reading December 1 at Open Jar Studios in Manhattan.

The cast will feature Madeline Weinstein (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Alex Strangelove), Saamer Usmani (Inventing Anna, 3 Body Problem), and playwright Lapidus (Bad Jews).

Molly Clifford (Polylogues) will direct Kate, which follows Kate and Bianca, who share a secret language that makes them not only sisters, but best friends. But when Kate’s disdain for marriage runs a little too hot at Bianca’s wedding dress appointment, it starts a fight that threatens the very bones of their sisterhood.

Lapidus, a writer and actor based in Brooklyn, is a US/UK Fulbright Award Recipient and graduate of the University of Michigan and LAMDA.
