International News London’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Will Release 400 Low-Cost Tickets in Honor of Series’ Key Date The sale will offer tickets for the performances on September 1, 2017—the day on which the series' epilogue takes place.

At the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—the seventh and final book in J.K. Rowling’s series—the title wizard sends his sons off for a year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on September 1, 2017. To mark the arrival of this key date, the West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will offer a flash sale for that day’s performances of the two parts.

Tickets for the production’s “Friday 400” sale—an extension of their regular “Friday Forty” program—will be released August 4 at 4 PM BST. The randomly ordered virtual waiting room will open at 3:30 PM BST. Customers will be limited to purchasing a maximum of two tickets for both Parts One and Two. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the two-part follow up to Rowling’s massively popular series, features a new story by Rowling, Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany. The play officially premiered at the West End’s Palace Theatre in July 2016 and went on to win a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards, including Best New Play.

A Broadway opening is set for April 22, 2018, at the Lyric Theatre, which will undergo renovations to match the themes and setting of the magic-infused play.
