Tony and Pulitzer-winning writer and performer Lin-Manuel Miranda has continued to share cut songs from his Broadway smash Hamilton, releasing a demo of "This One's Mine" December 14. Miranda wrote the song for Eliza to sing after meeting Hamilton, but he eventually dropped the song for "Helpless." Listen to the demo below.
Miranda also shared the story behind this cut song and how his wife pushed him to write a better song."She was right," he tweeted.
The release comes just days after Miranda released another Hamilton cut song, "George Washington's Death."

Though the song did not make it into the final score of Hamilton, "This One's Mine" did not go to waste; Miranda wrote a new lyric and re-purposed the cut song's melody for "One School" in 21 Chump Street, a 2014 15-minute musical adaptation of an episode of radio show and podcast This American Life.
