The Goodman Theatre's 13th annual New Stages Festival will play September 21-October 9. The Chicago Sun Times reports that this year’s festival will include three fully staged productions in repertory and three staged readings.

The developmental productions include Abe Koogler’s examination of office politics in Blue Skies Process; Support Group for Men, by Ellen Fairey, a comedy about a quartet of men who let off steam at a weekly gathering; and the drama The King of Hell’s Palace, by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, which confronts the issues of public health.

The readings include Florissant & Canfield by Kristiana Rae Colón—an exploration of the civil rights renaissance and the quest for justice in the era of the Black Lives Matter movement; Amy and the Orphans, by Lindsey Ferrentino, about two siblings re-establishing their relationship with their sister affected by Down syndrome; and And Moira Spins, by Kirsten Greenidge, about the “cherished notions of family” and how far people will go to keep the image intact.
