Directed by MTW producing artistic director Wayne Bryan, the musical stars Anne Horak (White Christmas) as Elle Woods, Matthew Shepard (Les Miserables) as Professor Callahan, Skyler Adams (Adventures of Pinocchio at Chicago Shakespeare Theater) as Emmett and Colleen Hawks (The Boy from Oz) as Paulette.
The cast also features Ryan Vasquez as Warner, Julia Johanos as Vivienne, Alex Finke as Serena, Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Pilar, Sarah Shelton as Margot, Nicholas Palmquist as Kyle, Dani Young as Enid, Robert Ariza as Padmadan/Carlos, Benjamin Rivera as Nikos and Matthew Amira as Aaron.
Here's how MTW bills the musical: "Nobody takes blonde sorority girl Elle Woods seriously – including her socially ambitious boy friend. When he dumps her to concentrate on someone more upwardly mobile, Elle rises with pink aplomb to the top ranks of Harvard law school, and learns who she really is. A brand new Broadway musical comedy, this is a very funny and terrifically empowering musical romp."
Other members of the creative team include choreographer Roger Castellano, musical director Thomas W. Douglas, set designer J Branson, costume designer Leon Dobkowski, lighting designer David Neville and props designer Liz Spray.
Music Theatre of Wichita has also announced its 2013 season, which includes the American premiere of Betty Blue Eyes as well as Mary Poppins, Monty Python's Spamalot, Les Miserables and The King and I. Read more about the season here.
