The 2023-2024 Broadway season will kick off with Levi Holloway's award-winning play Grey House, which will begin previews April 29 prior to an official opening May 30 at the Lyceum Theatre.

Originally developed and produced by A Red Orchid Theatre, Grey House made its world premiere in Chicago in 2019, directed by Shade Murray; that production won three Jeff Awards, including Best New Work, in 2020. Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens will produce the Broadway premiere.

Directed by two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello (Assassins, Take Me Out), the Broadway cast will be led by two-time Tony winner Laurie Metcalf (A Doll’s House, Part 2; Three Tall Women), Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Network), Emmy nominee Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Lortel Award nominee Sophia Anne Caruso (Beetlejuice, School for Good and Evil), and Critics’ Choice Award nominee Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Grey House follows a couple whose car crashes on a mountain and subsequently seek shelter in an isolated cabin with somewhat unusual inhabitants. As the blizzard outside continues, the couple becomes less and less sure of what's true and why a sound in the walls keeps getting louder.

“The moment we encountered Levi Holloway's Grey House, we knew we had to produce this exciting, sophisticated, and terrifying new play. We are thrilled to bring the horror genre to Broadway, helmed by one of the greatest directors of our time, Joe Mantello. Grey House will be unlike anything Broadway audiences have ever experienced, brought to life by extraordinary actors—Laurie Metcalf, Tatiana Maslany, and Paul Sparks—and a team of brilliant designers,” producers Kirdahy and Ahrens said in a statement.

The production will also have scenic design by three-time Tony winner Scott Pask, costume design by Emmy nominee Rudy Mance, lighting design by seven-time Tony winner Natasha Katz, sound design by Tony nominee Tom Gibbons, musical supervision and a cappella arrangements by Obie winner Or Matias, choreography by Tony nominee Camille A. Brown, casting by David Caparelliotis, and general management by Foresight Theatrical.
