Laura Benanti has set a long-awaited London debut! The Tony winner is bringing her solo show Nobody Cares to Underbelly Boulevard Soho September 2 for two performances only.
The London performances follow a sold-out run at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe that served as her U.K. debut. Nobody Cares was originally commissioned by Audible Theater, which staged two runs of it Off-Broadway at their Minetta Lane Theatre in 2024. The company has since released a live audio recording of the show.
Benanti, a Tony winner for her performance in the title role of 2008's revival of Gypsy, wrote the show, described in press notes as "an utterly transparent, self-deprecating romp through [Benanti's] life as a pathological (and now recovering) people pleaser." Over the hour-long performance, Benanti tells comedic stories and sings original songs, co-written with Todd Almond (I'm Almost There), also the show's music director.
Soto Productions and Jenny Gersten are producing the U.K. performances.
