Featuring Broadway's best rocking out to classic American rock 'n roll, the evening will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and non-profit performing arts education programs.
Hosted by Broadway Sessions’ Ben Cameron, the concert will be directed by Rockers creator Donnie Kehr.
Newly announced for the evening are Tony winner LaChanze, Anthony Rapp, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat, Ethan Slater, Jonathan Dokuchitz, Jackie Burns, Amelia Cormack, and Tim Young, who will join the previously reported Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Wilson Jermaine Heredia, along with Preston Truman Boyd, Tyler Hanes, Michael Lanning, Ginna Le Vine, Constantine Maroulis, Jennifer Perry, Ryann Redmond, Bryce Ryness, Sara Schmidt, composer Jeremy Schonfeld, Jarrod Spector, and Clarke Thorell.Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and founding member of “The Rascals,” Gene Cornish will guest star.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Tony Award-winning composer, conductor, orchestrator, and musician Tom Kitt. The Ambassador of Rock Award will be presented to Lucas “Rico” Corrubia. For the last 30 years, Corrubia has been a respected and beloved member of the audio world, having designed, mixed, managed, and toured the world with some of the biggest names in music and theatre, including Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, Christina Aguilera, B-52’s and more. On Broadway and on tour, he mixed such musicals as The Who’s Tommy; Bring in ’Da Noise, Bring in ’Da Funk; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Burn the Floor; Miss Saigon; and many more. Corrubia is currently recovering from complications from open heart surgery on January 6.
