News Kristy Cates and Ryann Redmond Are Off-Broadway's New Wonderettes The actresses will succeed Christina Bianco and Diana DeGarmo in the Off-Broadway hit musical.

Finding Neverland star and former Elphaba Kristy Cates, along with Bring it On’s Ryann Redmond will join the cast of The Marvelous Wonderettes Off-Broadway, September 21 and August 24 respectively.

Redmond will take on the role of Suzy Simpson, currently played by Diana DeGarmo, who will play her final performance August 14. Cates will take over the role of Missy Miller from Christina Bianco, who will take her final bow August 17. Meg Lanzarone (We Will Rock You, NEWSical) will play the role of Missy in the interim.

The revival of The Marvelous Wonderettes, produced by Tom and Michael D’Angora, officially opened April 28 following performances that began March 24 at New York’s Theatre Row. The cast of the 1950's-set high school musical comedy currently features Bianco, DeGarmo, Jenna Leigh Green, Sally Schwab and Mackenzie Barmen as the understudy.

Created, written and originally directed by Roger Bean, the previous New York production played at Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre September 2008-January 2010. Here's how the show is billed: ”The Marvelous Wonderettes takes a cotton-candied colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet The Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! We experience their lives and loves from prom night to their 10-year reunion as told through more than 20 chart topping hits of the era!
